Shelley spent a lot of her day debating in her head and judging her actions, sometimes about things that haven’t even happened yet. Sometimes even running past events over and over in her head trying to figure out what she could have done differently, what she could have communicated more clearly. Her worrying enveloped her entire life – with work, money, her physical appearance and even her relationships. She found herself judging others as well as her self, she had been doing this for a lot of her life. It took up so much of her energy and she never felt like she was enough. 

She began turning to alcohol and food and losing sleep because how much she worried. She couldn’t seem to turn off the monkey in her mind, constantly saying something. She was so distracted in her life she was missing out on the connections that mattered to her. She began to lose touch with the people in her life that she loved and she would just as soon stay in than go out and enjoy time with friends and family. 

She made a decision

Often times, it takes a lot before someone is ready to make a change in his or her lives because change means allowing complacency to take a back seat! We don’t plan to let poor habits take hold, a lot of times they are introduced as little kids. And the thing is, all of the habits that Shelley has been repeating thus far in life have served her and helped her get here. It has taken until this point for Shelley to see that her energy and time is too valuable to be spinning her tires any longer. 

Shelley realized she was making excuses to keep running herself into the ground. Things like “I’m too busy” or “my life is too complicated, no one will understand”. Her stress level was too high to not make a change. 

So she arrived at the point where she was ready to make a change but she still didn’t know how. She decided to see if she could get some feedback with hypnosis. 

How to manage stress with Hypnosis

Hypnosis helped Shelley calm down and set realistic goals. She learned how to get out of debating and worrying all of the time. She also learned how she could let go of things she couldn’t change. As a result, she began to see the bigger umbrella picture of life, which made it easier to make good choices and have clear priorities. Not only did Shelley begin to feel more level in her day-to-day life, her sleep improved in a big way. Because she was feeling more rested she felt like healthy eating became easier and she was really starting to enjoy life again. 

When she realized how simple it was to make these changes she wished she had started with hypnosis earlier.
